Op Ed: Remember, Remember the 27th of December

"On December 27th, 2008, Israel invaded Gaza in response to an attack that killed two Israelis and injured another. This attack was a response to Israel's targeted killing of Gazan terrorists, which in turn was a response to the insensitive shelling of Israeli towns by rockets fired from Gaza.

And the cycle just keeps repeating with no evident end in sight.

But does the death of a few Israeli soldiers (who I'm sure have killed innocent Palestinians before) justify the massacre of over 1,400 and the wounds of over 5,000 civilians? I don't think so. The so called "Gaza War" should not be referred to as a war at all, but as a massacre of hundreds of innocent civilians, most of them women and children.

The invasion was dubbed "Operation Cast Lead", one of history's greatest crimes on humanity. Richard Goldstone, who conducted an investigation in Gaza following the operation, stated the following:

"There is evidence indicating serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law were committed by Israel during the Gaza conflict, and that Israel committed actions amounting to war crimes,
