Pat Farr voted against the Motion

“There were some questions about the nature of the request,” said west Eugene Councilor PatFarr, who participated in the committee but said he abstained from voting on the recommendations. Along with concerns about how the camp would be managed, Farr said there are legal barriers to creating a camp.

“Zoning and land use would make it very difficult to set land aside for a permanent camp,” Farr said.

The committee may have endorsed several ambitious goals, but how the ideas would become reality is uncertain, city officials say.
