Apple Computer seems to have a thing for the Persian language. Stories of employees at
Apple Stores in the U.S. state of Georgia refusing to sell iPads and iPhones to customers speaking Farsi are surfacing and other Iranian-Americans across the country are coming forward telling similar tales of discrimination.
Rachel Roberts, the Civil Rights Coordinator for Northern California for the
Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) discussed the details of this disturbing discrimination in this
interview (9:51).
CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization, has called on Apple to change its policy of Farsi-speaking customers being denied service.
